Prayer Chain

We have a group of people who pray for others upon request  for any need or concern.  Contact the church office (309) 944-3389 to put a request on the chain or to join this prayer group.  This prayer group is contacted by phone or by email.

WHEN YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MEMBER GOES INTO THE HOSPITAL, PLEASE LET THE CHURCH OFFICE KNOW.

You can contact us at firstsec@geneseo.net or firstucc@geneseo.net with your prayer request or to inform us of hospitalizations.

Prayer concerns should be directed through the office of the church pastor or secretary if possible.  If a prayer concern occurs after office hours or on a weekend when no one is available in the office, please leave a message on the church answering service and then contact any member of the Prayer Chain and ask them to start the chain.

The church secretary will make contact with the first individual on the Prayer Chain.  If that individual is unavailable and a message is left on an answering service, the secretary will contact the next individual, and so on, until the secretary actually speaks with someone.

Once contacted, the last individual on the Prayer Chain will notify the first member of the prayer chain that they have received a call so that the first member of the chain knows all contacts have been made.

For members wishing to be notified by email, an email group will be created to enable either the church secretary or pastor or any member of the prayer chair to also send notification through email.  Remember this does not replace a phone contact.

Remember this chain will only work if all participants continue to call the next member on the chain until contact is made by speaking directly with an individual.  If you leave a message on an answering service or you are unable to contact an individual following you on the chain, please continue to the next contact person on the chain.  Sometimes this may require a member to make several calls before they actually speak to someone.

Our prayers for those in need are appreciated and are a valuable expression of our care and love.  Thank you for being a very important part our our Church's ministry.
